Living the Heavenly Life

I have time to spend so I might as well blog once again. It's been a while since I last blog and for a particular reason for that. The story of Moses; his life, his experiences, his mistakes, his flock all just point to the life of a Christian who truly desires to follow the Word of Elohim. Though we may go through much travailings, yet the blessings that accompany us easily blots out every remembrance of our past ordeals. The promises of Elohim keeps us going inasmuch as it keep Moses. I have decided to drop the subject of Moses because it is vastly extensive and rich in revelations. I do not drop it because of said reason but simply because this blog was never meant to be a pastoral sermon board but a personal walk of a son of Elohim, his daily challenges and his daily blessings in the Messiah revealed and shared from day to day.

So inasmuch as I ended the previous part of Moses on the tenth plague, I believe I'll just leave it there. For now at least; until the time comes when the Spirit of Yahweh prompts me to return to it. Let's return to what I'd rather do. Talking of His wondrous works in day to day life as a son of Elohim.

The upcoming seminar 'Living the Heavenly Life' is just around the corner and things are starting to become lively here at Glory Place Mantin. The place is a buzz with activity in preparation for receiving different nations into her midst. It is truly a blessing to be able to not only witness but be a part of the ecumenical body of Messiah; gathering together to truly wait upon Yahweh and to receive from Him. Friends and family alike are gathering together in the name of the Lord Yeshua Messiah and that is something to be excited and jovial about.

Some people see this as a time of immense work to be done but I for one see this as my vacation day. When you're with family, no matter what; even if it be work, it is accounted as nothing when you're with the people you love. So when we gather together during seminars like this it's as though I've gone on vacation and take this time to enjoy myself in whatsoever I've been given to do. A great joy indeed. For how can you count something as work when you enjoy it so much? Rather it becomes a pleasure, something desirable rather than something needed.

The dawn of the seminar is here and with it, a higher breakthrough in and of and by the Spirit of Elohim. Wonder what will be for this time...

Moses [Parte 4]

Moses really has so many similarities that we can pinpoint out that exemplifies what it means to be a true Christian, a fellow believer and disciple of the Lord Yeshua Messiah. From his birth onwards even to the very day of his death is indeed a shadow of things which has already come: Messiah first and as I believe for those who walk the path of the cross, to its glorious end.

Even though Moses himself murmured against Yahweh, He being the gracious Elohim that He is continued to proclaim Himself; that His Word shall be exalted and shall judge Pharaoh and the gods whom he trusts. He shall not only smite them but will do so in such spectacular manner that there will be no more arguments about Who is the true Elohim. Yahweh.

[1Ki 18:39] And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, יהוה, he is the Elohim; יהוה, he is the Elohim.

And so came the ten plagues. Blood, frogs, lice, flies, livestock, boils, hail, locusts, darkness, and the tenth plague; which I shall elaborate later on because it holds significant revelations indeed. The ten plagues each held significant meaning: they were meant to judge the gods of Egypt and to exact retribution upon the Egyptians for their hundreds of years of harsh treatment towards the people of Yahweh. With every plague that was unleashed, judgement was passed onto the gods of Egypt to show that there is indeed only one Elohim Who rules the heavens and the earth. Yahweh El Shaddai.

[Exo 12:12] For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the elohim of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am יהוה.

Egypt held and revered many different gods: health, medicine, the sun, the river Nile, etc. Even in our generation right now it is prevalent although it has taken a slightly altered form: computers, phone, food, education, health, entertainment, etc. So when Moses and Aaron came in the name of Yahweh Elohim of Israel, to Pharaoh it was just yet another Elohim Whom he had yet to know. Which was why he said thus:

[Exo 5:2] And Pharaoh said, Who is יהוה, that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I know not יהוה, neither will I let Israel go.

He outrightly challenged the sovereignty of the Elohim of Israel and in the end, picked the short end of the straw. With every plague Yahweh made it clear that there was none that could be compared with Him. It wasn't even a contest to begin with. No power of man is able to prevail against even the weakness, if there is any, of Elohim.

[1Co 1:25] Because the foolishness of יהוה is wiser than men; and the weakness of יהוה is stronger than men.

And so with the ten plagues Yahweh demonstrated His glory and His power for all to see and fear Him. But the real kicker is that the first nine plagues were all in some ways you could say 'natural' plagues. All were able to be caused and categorised as natural disasters in their own right but the tenth plague stands out from it all. It was the most fearsome and truly it gives us a clear cut warning: Though we may err in our ways, we must never provoke Yahweh to His fierce anger. In the last plague, Yahweh Himself came down to smite the Egyptians. I shall elaborate further in the next post. Until then...

Moses [Parte 3] and then Yeshua

Thus Moses was sent along with his eldest brother, Aaron. Sent to the very courts of Pharaoh where he once learned from. To appear before him no longer as a prince of his own but a deliverer of Elohim's chosen people. Could you imagine the transformation that took place in his life? I reckon that Pharaoh would hardly recognise this once eloquent and illustrious man turned stammerer and undignified shepherd as one of his own.

Their first encounter did not go so well and the repercussions severe upon the children of Israel. Having to fulfil their daily quota without the essentials provided, but instead forced to craft it themselves surely takes a hard toll on anyone.

[Exo 5:11] Go ye, get you straw where ye can find it: yet not ought of your work shall be diminished.

The burden being laid upon the shoulders of the Israelites and the guilt thereof on the shoulders of the one who got them in trouble in the first place; Moses'. A man like him would crack under such pressure and this is just the get go. And yet how similar sometimes we find ourselves in the same situations and taking the same course of action. When we don't see Yahweh move, we get shifty. And when the situation goes south, we jump the boat forgetting so many times that in all situations our Elohim is sovereign and in control despite what circumstances may seem. But too often we are all to eager to turncoat and at the first sign of situations going awry and out of expectations we bail. Just like how Moses wanted too:

[Exo 5:22-23] And Moses returned unto יהוה, and said, יהוה, wherefore hast Thou so evil entreated this people? why is it that Thou hast sent me? For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast Thou delivered Thy people at all.

So, so many times; including myself of course, how often we expect of Elohim to immediately answer us or at least give us something to work with when we come to Him in our times of need. We want something to cling onto that would keep our heads above water so that it does not overflow us. Forgetting so easily that in every situation we have the privilege of having Yeshua with us, within the boat or without.

[Luk 8:22-24] Now it came to pass on a certain day, that He went into a ship with His disciples: and He said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth. But as they sailed He fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy. And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.

[Mat 14:25-27] And in the fourth watch of the night Yeshua went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Yeshua spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

Seriously, this one will need an entire session by itself so I'll leave it at this at this stage. However as a final note, in every storm and in every tempest we can expect shakings and whatnot to happen upon us. But we can also expect Someone more:

[Mat 14:27]But straightway Yeshua spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

Moses [Parte 2]

From riches to rags, from the highest education to becoming somewhat of an abomination to his tutors. From a prince down to a shepherd in a place unbeknownst to majority. Such was and still is the price that we as Christians must pay just as Moses did. Why? Simply because Yahweh cannot use us when we have a mindset of the world still working within us. We'll find that we argue more with Elohim the more we become 'learned' in the world when all Yahweh really required of us is to learn His Word and His Word alone.

[Mat 4:4] But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of יהוה.

[Jos 1:8] This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

The same amount of years Moses had learned at the hands of the Egyptians, the same number of years Yahweh required it at his hand. 40 years. It took him that long to rid everything of the world within him. From a eloquent and precise man to a stuttering man unable to stand before Pharaoh. Pleading even with Elohim that He'd send another in his stead.

[Exo 4:10] And Moses said unto יהוה, O יהוה, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since Thou hast spoken unto Thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.

[Exo 4:13] And he said, O יהוה, send, I pray Thee, by the hand of him whom Thou wilt send.

I'm not saying that we'll all have to come to a point where our supposed 'humility' even kindles the wrath of Yahweh, however there must be a coming to a point where there was once recognition in the eyes of men toward us to a recognition of Elohim. Inasmuch as the world did not know and even hated our Lord Yeshua Messiah, we as servants should expect such and much more from the world which we are undergoing pilgrimage in.

[Joh 1:10] He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not.

[Joh 15:19-20] If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his master. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept My saying, they will keep yours also.

It was when Moses was at the zero point in his life where the world was completely buried within and without that Yahweh called unto him and commissioned him the deliverer of His people. A regular man endued with power from on high, given the authority through the working of the Spirit of Yahweh. No such remembrance of the past dealings with the world, currently untrained and unlearned but one thing was in full clarity: Yahweh was and will be with him. Does this sound familiar to us? It should. Yahweh takes no pleasure in calling the prideful and arrogant into His business because then the glory would not be entirely His. Even the man with the most reasons to boast in himself must be humbled until nothing is left of and within himself before the commission from Elohim comes. Now there is a difference between the call of Yahweh and the commission from Yahweh. For one thing, the call is for all, even the prideful and most learned in the world. However the commission is only for those taught personally by the Lord. And that teaching process encompasses much humbling. For only when we see ourselves as having no other options but to constantly and with fervency cling onto Yeshua; the Word of Elohim, then only can we be effective channels of blessing for others to see and witness to. For how can water flow freely through a pipe when it has rocks in it? Something needs to break it. The same with our hearts of stone, pride and arrogance and the sort.

[Jer 23:29] Is not My word like as a fire? saith יהוה; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

To be continued...

Moses [Parte 1]

Abraham's is a life of faith. Joseph's is a life of Divine appointments. Joshua's is a life of warfare. David's is a life of praise and worship. Samuel's a life of ministering unto Yahweh. The list goes on; however what I really want to direct your attention to is the life of Moses: the life of a Christian. The Bible's own Pilgrim's Progress.

We begin at the upbringing of Moses. His conception I'll leave it out as I have yet to receive revelation concerning thus. Moses was brought up with the highest degree of education of that age. Egypt was no mere country, it was an empire and the pinnacle of it at that moment in time. Being the adopted son of Pharaoh meant that he would receive education befitting a prince and would be in line to the throne. We all know the story of how he killed the Egyptian taskmaster assuming that his brethren would understand that he was acting in part as their saviour, but they didn't and it resulted in him fleeing the country to become a shepherd.

[It's quite long so I'll just put the reference up; Acts 7:22-29]

Now from this alone there is already so much similarities between ourselves and him. We once delved into the wisdom and knowledge of this world through textbooks and literature, thinking that one day we would 'contribute' to society by becoming a doctor, an engineer, a pilot, etc. And as Moses became aware of his Hebraic heritage that he himself was a Hebrew and deigned himself to be the deliverer of his people because of his standing and learned ways, we too thought that when we became Christians we would then 'contribute' no longer to society but to Elohim first and then man. Thinking to do a good thing when in fact nothing of and by the flesh can please Yahweh for flesh and blood cannot inherit His kingdom.

[1Co 15:50] Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of יהוה; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Moses was qualified in every way: he was eloquent, learned in the ways of Egypt, thoroughly bred to be a prince, holds standing office as the son of Pharaoh's daughter.

[Act 7:22] And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.

And yet before Yahweh he was found wanting. He could not use Moses the way he is now because the wisdom from this world brings in nothing but death and its knowledge pride and arrogance. He thought he knew the heart of Yahweh that He would use him as the saviour of his people; and He did but not as he was when he first acted. And acted he did, presumptuously for under no circumstances did Elohim ever direct him to slay that Egyptian.

What about us? We so willingly forget that Yahweh never calls the qualified, rather that He qualifies the called. But we deem it foolish to know nothing so that we could have everything. "We ought to be just like the world so that we can win the world for Messiah. Yeshua can use our skills which we attained in this world for His purposes and plan." Though I do not discredit that because Yahweh is sovereign and He does with one as He pleases and another differently according to the good pleasure of His will. However that wasn't the case with Moses. How many times have we all acted presumptuously because we 'felt the prompting of Yahweh'? Saul felt prompted to offer the sacrifice first before Samuel arrived and the result: the kingdom was given to a man more worthy of it, David. However know for certain that we must not be like the world to win the world for Yeshua. He's called us to be lights of the world and what do lights so? They shine in the darkness. And what would happen if our eyes should make us wander into the darkness to be like the darkness? Yeshua makes it clear cut:

[Mat 6:23] But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

We are a city that is set on a hill. Get it? We are first of all separated from other 'cities' if you will and furthermore elevated above them. If the inhabitants of the valley look up then they will see the city set atop the hill, it cannot be hidden.

[Mat 5:14] Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

I will continue this in another post. Until then...

Perseverance Needed

Just want to praise Yahweh. In the end that is all I can say and do. Even though everything may seem against me, it is not but surely die my betterment. To continue my walk in the Lord the process of dying to the flesh and self has been boosted and intensified. The testings are becoming more frequent as they are arduous however I cling onto the hope that where I am weak there the strength of the Messiah may rise.

[2Co 12:9] And He said unto me, My favour is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of the Messiah may rest upon me.

Now there are times aplenty that I have failed to overcome and instead succumbed to the wiles of the devil. However, through these personal failings I see the constant need for me to fall back onto the everlasting arms of He who can never fail us. Through these times I see the necessity for the ever renewing grace and mercies of Elohim to rest upon me and for that I am grateful.

[Lam 3:22] It is of יהוה's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.

In this I begin to see the resemblance in our lives with Moses. If Abraham was the life of faith personified and the life of David of worship and praise, then Moses' personifies the life of an everyday believer in the son of Elohim. But to talk about him right now is a bit difficult to say the least. His life story and how it matches with ours so perfectly will just take up paragraphs upon paragraphs. I might do that in the next post though.

Although what I can say is that Moses even though he failed to enter the Promised Land which is the fullness of Messiah Yeshua this very day, he failed to enter by flesh but entered anyhow by the Spirit. Even though he was a man with many errors about him, there was never a prophet that could ever be compared with him besides our Lord and Saviour. If he had such hope and a glorious ending waiting for him despite his misgivings, we too share and experience and even greater Hope.

[Col 1:27] To whom יהוה would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is the Messiah in you, the hope of glory.

Thus we continue to cling onto Him and persevere, because:

[Psa 30:5] For His anger endureth but a moment; in His favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

Praise Yahweh!
